This Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy program has been specially designed to improve the function of those whose mental and/or physical state causes them to struggle with leaving home or participating in an intensive program. The overall goal of this stage is to be able to progress into a program with higher levels of participation and physical demand.

Our comprehensive Pain Management Program brings together Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Athletic Therapy, Psychology and more to build capacity with injured individuals and gives the skills needed for a continued healthy lifestyle.

Our team of physiotherapists can help to restore movement and function that has been lost due to injury, illness or disability. We can also work preventatively to help to reduce your risk of injury or illness in the future.

Dietitian Services

Our registered dietitians will design nutrition programs to help protect your health and alleviate the symptoms of many types of disease. They will work with you to monitor the results and adjust the plans as needed.

We structure our programs around three key principles.

Listening to your Story

We prioritize listening to your story about how your pain is impacting your day-to-day life and talk with you about the goals you’d like to achieve. Your program will be tailored to best support you in reaching your desired outcomes.

Education on pain

You will learn about pain: what it is, how your body manages it, and how it can be manipulated. You will be able to answer questions like:

• “Why does it still hurt?”
• “Will this ever get better?”
• “How can I be more active when it hurts every time I try to exercise?”

Safe Movement

During your time with us, you will learn the hows and whys behind physical fitness as well as how to safely and effectively design your own exercise program.

We will show you how to move safely again. You will learn what you CAN do, rather than what your limitations are, and will understand when it is the right time to move to the next level. You progress at your own pace.
